Rift of the Dawn

A mysterious artifact cracks open a gateway through time. Project Aegis races to seize a second chance for humanity.

Colonel Logan Grant is called back from exile to guard Sector Delta, a blacksite built around the gateway. Inside, scientists inch toward a breakthrough. Outside, the world fractures under the pressure of Aurora, the artificial intelligence everyone swears is still under control.

As the summer solstice approaches, an assault closes in, and the plan changes from expedition to evacuation. To step through the rift is to abandon the present and enter a past that may not want intruders.

Because if the past can be claimed, the future can be rewritten.

First in a trilogy. More to come.

About the author

Simon Grey spent two decades in technology, most of it building infrastructure that keeps the internet running. He has worked as an executive in the IT industry, leading teams across sales, product, and operations at a global scale.

He has been reading science fiction and fantasy since childhood, drawn to stories where big ideas collide with flawed, stubborn people. Writers like Rothfuss, Asimov, and Simmons taught him that the best speculative fiction isn't about the technology. It's about what the technology reveals in us.

Rift of the Dawn is his debut novel and the first volume in a trilogy that explores AI, temporal mechanics, and the lengths humanity will go to when given one more chance. He writes slowly and deliberately, building worlds meant to be revisited.

He lives in Europe with his family. When he's not writing, he is probably arguing with someone about the future of artificial intelligence.
